Celebrations!

A baptism of a returnee in Japan!

Summer Update:

During the summer months, Glow takes a break from regular programming, which allows space for different connection opportunities, focused time for the summer Japan mission trip, and some Glow Leadership dreaming!

The summer days in Georgia brought fun family gathering opportunities like Lake Day at the home of a long-time volunteer and supporter. Lake Day provides such unique experiences for Glow guests, like canoeing, kayaking, jumping off a dock, and tumbling around the lily pad! It was a beautiful afternoon until the thunderstorm arrived. Glow Guests also enjoyed a swim party at the home of a volunteer and a playground playdate at Grace Church that offered crafts, games, and popsicles supplied by... you guessed it, another long-time volunteer!

In June a team of 7 led by Glow co-founder Naoko Uechi traveled to Tokyo to host a Pastor’s Retreat, serve a local church, meet with returnees, and host a Family Camp! The trip was a great success, with many spiritual needs met for those who were served. A new team plans to return in November 2025 to minister in similar ways.

July brought our annual Glow Kids Camp! We are thankful for the support of Grace Church, who shares their facility with us. Glow Kids continues to be a place of growth! We had 40 campers and 20 volunteers! The children learned the gospel, worshipped, crafted, gamed, and ate! We are so thankful for the huge support of volunteers! It requires a lot of hands to make Kids Camp happen. We were also blessed to receive a grant from Thrivent, which helped meet the financial needs of the camp. Finally, Glow is working hard to bring back Glow Youth! At Kids Camp, two teens from Acklen Church of Christ in Nashville, TN, served as the Glow Youth leaders at camp, and their presence made a huge difference in the lives of the oldest campers!
