2026 began with a fruitful “Experience Japan” event hosted in partnership with Lifeshape, a Chick-Fil-A organization that exposes their employees to opportunities to serve both locally and globally. For Glow, it provides a unique opportunity to share about the spiritual state of Japan and the work that we are doing to impact it. We are thankful for new volunteers as a result of this effort.
The regular rhythms of Glow & Learn, ESL, Glow Kids & Glow Youth bring stability and connection for volunteers and guests. Seeds of faith are planted through the telling of the gospel while wrapped in the process of building relationships. These offerings, combined with small group Bible studies, 1:1 partnerships, parenting classes, and discipleship classes, brought us to a joyous occasion in March where we celebrated the baptism of a new believer at Crossroads Church in Sharpsburg, GA! Many friends gathered together to witness her proclamation of faith in Jesus followed by a small party of celebration and prayer!
Later that month, Glow Founder Naoko Uechi, Glow Kids Leader Rachel McEachron, and Glow Youth Leader Eric McEachron, along with their daughter Sophie, traveled to Japan for a ministry trip. During their time in Japan, they connected with local missionaries, strengthened ministry partnerships, and hosted a Glow Family Camp for children and families. The trip provided valuable opportunities to encourage believers, share the love of Christ, and explore future ministry opportunities throughout the country. This journey marked the first of three mission trips planned for 2026, as Glow continues to expand its outreach and discipleship efforts among Japanese communities both in Japan and the United States.
The Spring semester ended with an Easter Egg Hunt, one of our most well-attended annual events! This event includes the sharing of the gospel story, supporting crafts led by faithful volunteers, and, of course, a massive egg hunt where the kids go home with far too much candy!
Finally, the Glow Leadership Team spent the month preparing for our upcoming July mission trip to Japan. Co-Founders Naoko Uechi and Samantha Harris, together with Noah Uechi, Ministry Operations Lead, coordinated ministry plans, volunteer training, travel arrangements, and event logistics.
We are thrilled to be sending a team of 13 volunteers to serve in Japan this summer. As they partner with local ministries and engage in outreach opportunities, we ask you to pray for safe travels, fruitful ministry, and lives transformed by the gospel. PRAYER PAUSE - Celebrating the Relaunch of Glow Youth!
In the Summer 2025 update, we shared a prayer request for a Glow Youth leader. This has been a request for a few years. We want to pause and thank God for bringing not one but four youth leaders!
We now have a strong youth team that is working together to take the lead for this important demographic in our community! They are using the Alpha curriculum to help guide the conversations; they eat together, study and discuss together, and play games! We give God all the glory for establishing this team!
Launching Glow on the Go!
Glow on the Go is bringing the hope of Christ to Japanese families and young adults this summer through ministry initiatives in Japan and Georgia, including English Camp, Returnee Gatherings, SPARK Cafe, Glow Kids Camp, Bible studies, and more.
